One Year Post Graduate Tui Na Curriculum

 

Course Description

Students will be taught the theories and philosophy of Tui Na, to be aware of contraindications of Tui Na, to apply a range of Tui Na hand techniques and to be able to assess and treat a wide range of conditions.  The module sessions are comprised of lecturer demonstrations and hands on practise with students working on each other under supervision.

 

Aim of Course

1 To learn massage skills of Tui Na

2 To gain an aetiology and pathology of conditions

3 To carry out an assessment of a conditions using orthopaedic examination and muscle testing in conjunction with Traditional Chinese Medicine examination.

 

Learning outcomes

The student will be able to achieve the following outcomes

To be able to carry out a full body Tui Na massage

To be able to carry out muscle testing

1 to be able to carry out an assessment of a condition by using a traditional Chinese medicine examination in conjunction with an orthopaedic examination

4 To devise a treatment plan for the condition

 

Year One

There are three modules per year totaling 125 hours

To evaluate digestive system conditions using a TCM diagnosis and to plan an appropriate treatment strategy

To evaluate respiratory treatment conditions using traditional Chinese medicine and to plan and to plan an appropriate treatment strategy
