Professor Mei Xing – President of ATCM (Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine UK)

Professor Mei Xing qualified as a medical doctor in 1985 after training at Guiyang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). She furthered her expertise in integrated medicine at Beijing’s Dong Zhi Men Hospital and No. 301 General Hospital of the People’s Liberation Army. She later earned an MSc from Chengdu Traditional Chinese Medicine University and worked as an Associate Professor and Medical Consultant in Endocrinology.

Moving to the UK in 2000, became a lecturer at the University of Salford, where later led the BSc TCM Acupuncture course. and went on to establish the MSc Traditional Acupuncture program at Manchester Metropolitan University. In 2015, Mei founded the Manchester Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, where she now serves as Principal.

With over 30 years of clinical experience, Mei has made significant contributions to acupuncture and Chinese Medicine as an educator, examiner, and advisor to professional bodies such as the Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the British Acupuncture Council, and the British Medical Acupuncture Society. She remains dedicated to excellence in patient care and passionately upholds high teaching standards to nurture the next generation of TCM practitioners in the UK.
